A Historic Samurai Blacksmith’s Residence

A Historic Samurai
Blacksmith’s Residence

Hitaru ishibashi-tei is a former blacksmith’s residence built around 200 years ago. The eldest son, Masayuki, moved to this location in 1818, while the fourth son, Masamitsu, became a renowned craftsman who even presented swords to Hiroshima Castle. This storied house has been lovingly renovated into a warm, character-filled space that honors its heritage.
